Sequential image: Finish Piece & Reflection
For my self study task this week, I create my own sequential images using the technique I learned from previous class practice. After finish drawing my vision of the concept ideas into a storyboard, I then start to gather all the props and materials I needed during photoshoot like vase, pencil and some flower as well as several plants I picked on the garden outside my apartment. I decided to start shooting in the afternoon when the sky is the brightest to get as much natural light possible for my photoshoot. Before taking picture, I first need to make sure to think about the detail of the picture that I wanted to get, like the background, the angle and other decorative detail. Once I have gather all the props on the table that I will be using to shoot, I then set up my phone to stand vertically with the help of a book, so it will not move during shooting. I always make sure that the vase is center and when I change the plant inside, it will not move. It took me 30 minutes to capture all the images. I shoot the picture with my iPhone 13 camera, 3024 × 3024 in dimension and 1/2.825 exposure time. Once I got all my picture, I create a contact sheet using a generator online. I put "back to earth" as the title, and this time I choose white as the background color with black strip color.
I'm really happy with the final result of this project. Although it was my second sequential image task, but I think I've done quite well with visioning the concept ideas as well as the photo shooting. But there are several point that I would like to improve for my next project. To make the centre object popped out more, it would better if I pick a neutral background so that the color won't crash with the centre object. In this case, I shouldn't use the greenery as the background, instead I should've use a white background with a3 paper to stick on the back. I also think that although natural light will be a good lighting for my photo shooting, but during my 30 minute shooting outside, I experience a changing lighting from the clouds that cover the sun, so the lighting on each image is not consistent. It would also better if I have a tripod to put my phone because it will be easier for me to change the object while not moving the frame. Apart from that, this project is really interesting for me to practice my photography skills and digital editing.

Good that you have completed this - well done
