    Rania's Bio

    Hello there, my name is Rania Laksita. 

    Continuing Coco Chanel's path has become my biggest dream for so long. The first step to getting closer to my dream begins here in Leicester. Currently, I’m an art and design student at DMUIC and am continuing fashion design as my continuation route. Fashion has become my biggest passion since childhood. At early primary school, I created a lot of art and crafts in my leisure time and I have been crowding my house with my handmade decor. My journey of getting immersed in the art of garment design started when I was gifted my dream fashion design sketchbook on my 11th birthday. I started to fill the pages with pretty princess dresses I dreamed of wearing and since then, I have made plenty of sketches of garments coming from various inspirations. My design often plays with current print trends and youthful color with a functional design that speaks elegance and enhances femininity. 

    When watching my auntie’s kebaya design runway, I truly fell in love with the beauty of garment construction. The creativity and complexity it took for a sketch to be worn out on the runways is what attracts me the most to fashion design. I always love to try out new things, that’s how I ended up with plenty of hobbies. From crafting to sewing, I like to spend my weekends with projects of making my dream wardrobe. Currently, I’m in my foundation year of art and design and I’m looking forward to create my best projects to include in my portfolio.
