Practice Advert

Today in digital arts, we are going to create a practice advert using pixlr editor online. I planned to create an awareness advertisement. First i searched 3 images of animal i wanted to include in the advert from unsplashed, make sure to choose the free images and save the picture on the computer folder. Once i got the images saved on my computer, i then open pixlr editor and click 'create new', then choose 'print' and pick the size of the canvas that i want. Then i change the background color to white by clicking 'image', and then press 'canvas background'.

Once the blank background is set, i then open the images that i saved on a desktop folder by clicking on 'file', 'open image', then i select the images and press apply. To paste the picture on the canvas layer, i click 'select', select all', and press the ctrl + c to copy and then paste it to the main canvas layer.

The next step is to create a logo for my endangered animal awareness advertisement. The website i used to create the logo is tailor brands, where i first need to give all the information about my company and pick the font and styles i like my logo to be. Last,  I customize the logo that i like by changing the font and color. To save the logo, I use snipping tools to print screen and press 'ctrl + v' to paste back to the main canvas frame in pixlr editor. I then arrange the logo to where i wanted it to be, i decided to put the logo on the upper right side of my advertisement.

Once i have my company logo on the frame, last i need to add my tagline to draw attention to my target audience. The tagline needs to be a short and interesting sentence that tells what you wanted your audience to hear. To add tagline, i press the text tools button on the left side, then press 'add'. I then type the tagline that i wanted and customize the font and size. I choose to use 'beornheard' font with size 140 & 315. I like that the font really suit the advertisement concept as well as the picture i used, where the font give a wild jungle looks.

To export the advertisement as jpg, I clicked the save button and press 'jpg' and 'high' quality image then press 'save as' and choose the folder that I wanted the image to saved at.

The advertisement came out just how I imagine it would be, I'm really happy with the result. Today's task is not complicated and I could finish it on time during the course. For future project, I'm looking forward to learn using other editing online websites like photoshop to create more creative digital projects.

  1. Good practice advert with technical detail - I do think you could of reflected more on whether the advert works or not and what else you could have done..
