Critically evaluating your website

Planning stage:
What were your initial ideas for creating a website? style / name / template
When choosing a template for my website, I was searching for a fashion portfolio template. There was a few templates to chose, however the color palette and theme doesn't suit my preferences. I ended up using a Clothing business template that have a neutral color palette and simple yet elegant font and design.
Do you have a tagline on your website?
I wanted to put a fashion quote on the home page background picture, and I have browse through the quotes that I wanted to include on my website, however when I had put the text on the page, it doesn't work well and kind of disturbing on the page, so I decided to not put any tagline.

Research:
Which designers / artists (relevant to your continuation route) websites did you
look for inspiration?
I choose to look deeper on Wilsen Willim's batik couture collection as an inspiration for my project. I discussed the 'kintsugi' technique behind the collection and how the collection is constructed. To gather more inspiration and background knowledge, I did further research on several influencer that promote 'berkain' campaign which are Rania Yamin, Yura Yunita, Nadin Amizah, and Alicia Amaris.
How many pages did you want to make on your website and why? Did that
change as you progressed onto the research / designing stage?
The mandatory pages that should be in our website are home page, portfolio, contact and about page. I was thinking of adding a 'past portfolio artwork' additional column on my about page, however I haven't compile my past artwork's picture, so if I have time left, I will add these additional column on my website to give more information about me as the designer.

Content:
What is the purpose of your website?
I made this website as a media to showcase my completed portfolio from my major project this term. It's also a website to get viewers to know more about me and offer a place for them to contact me and comment about my posted artwork.
Why do you think it is important to have a digital portfolio website?
It's essential to have a digital portfolio website to have digital archive or records of projects I have done which can be useful to add on my cv and resume.

Design:
Which design elements / tools did you use? (e.g.: infographics, fixed header,
static background image, navigation menu design, text boxes, image galleries,
social media feed) and why?
On my home page, I wanted to add several past artwork for my background. but it's still on progress. On the about page, I made my page quite simple and straightforward with clear and elegant font and social media icon button under so it's easier for viewers to find my social media. On my contact page, I used a form template for my contact form, and I included a related image on my page to add interesting decoration. For my portfolio pages, I have decided on where I would put my portfolio on the page, but apart from that I haven't add any decorations and design to it.

Navigation:
Does your website have working social media icon links?
I included my social media icon links on the right corner of my header as well as on my about page under the about me text.
Are your pages connected / interlinked?
The navigation menu button on my header makes it easier for reader to open the pages that they wanted to view which makes my website interlinked and connected.
Is it easy to navigate?
Yes, with the help of my navigation menu button I put on my header.
Does the “Contact” page / email link work?
I just tried to check if my contact form works on preview page, however an error occur and asking me to try again later. When I finalize my website, I will make sure the contact form to work properly.
