Website Update: Art Portfolio One
Today we are updating the website. I will also be adding a new portfolio page for my art portfolio one. The update will be posted here.
The first thing I revised on the website is changing the copyright year from 2024 to 2025. I did this by clicking on the text and edit it. I then save and then re-publish.
Next, I checked if all my social links are working and did not need updating. I will probably change my website color palette, change the theme and also change the picture with my own artwork.
I then checked my home, portfolio, about and contact page, ensuring i have navigation button to make my audience easier to navigate the home page.
Next I add a picture of my new portfolio int the portfolio page by clicking the add button and click import from computer, then choose the image that I wanted to put in the page. The picture is only temporary, I will make sure to change to my final portfolio cover picture to include on the page.
I then add a sub page on the portfolio page by clicking the 'page and menu' button, 'site menu', 'add page', then i rename the page and make sure the sub page is under the main portfolio page.
Next, after creating a new sub page, I then add a navigation button underneath the AP1 picture by duplicating the previous button so it will have similar font, color and size. Then I rename the text on the button with my AP1 project tittle and change the link to the sub page link that I have created previously.
The next step is to add tittle, introduction, portfolio pages and 'back to portfolio' button in the blank page that we created before. To have a continuous theme and font as well as the font size, I duplicate the tittle text and navigation button rom my other sub page into the blank page and rename the tittle with my AP1 tittle. I still haven't finalize my tittle for this term project, So I will ensure that I will come back to this page to rename the tittle once I'm sure with my project tittle.
Because I didn't have my AP1 portfolio cover and introduction yet, in the meantime I will use my collage image as my portfolio cover by clicking 'add element', 'import image from computer' and click on the image i wanted to include. To add the introduction text, I duplicate my introduction text from my other portfolio page to have the similar font and size. And once I have everything finalized, I will change the cover image and write my project introduction.
To present my portfolio pages, I plan to either make flipbook like last term project or make a slider image gallery on Wix by clicking 'add element', scroll down to 'gallery' and pick the gallery template that I wanted to use and then click 'change image' and once i finished my portfolio, I will import the portfolio pages from the computer and add it into the gallery according to its page order.
Once I like how my page is looking, I then click 'save' and ensure everything is working correctly by looking at my website preview.
