Outcomes Completion

These are the pictures of my completed 3d outcome. I finally completed both the top and the skirt at the end of week 8. Initially, I didn't plan on adding the strap accessories on both side of the front skirt, but then I saw a picture of bubble skirt with the strap hanging on both side which I think adds a unique feature to the skirt and also it relates to the utilitarian aesthetic I was going for. I was glad I decided to add the final details, because it gives the skirt a lot more to see instead of just a plain bubble skirt.

Before constructing the final 3d outcome, I first made a sample for the top to make sure the pattern that I altered will work. However due to the limited time, I didn't have the chance to make the sample for the skirt, therefore the finished skirt have several defect, for example the polyester fabric that I was using for the skirt turned out to be fragile if it was ironed on high heat, which burned the fabric and make it crinkly. As I didn't tried out the fabric beforehand, so there were several burned mark on the skirt. Another example is how the finished skirt is not symmetrical between the front piece and the back piece, the back piece was much shorter and doesn't give a full covering of the back. Beside several of the challenges I experienced, I'm really satisfied that I can create a finished garment with the short time frame of AP 1 project.

Above is the result of my photographed outcome. To take a picture of the garment, I decided to wear it myself, and asked Zoe to help with photographing it. Surprisingly, it only took about 10 minute to finish taking all the picture. These picture are then imported to a software to adjust the brightness and color grading.

This is the scanned picture of my finished 2d outcome which is my watercolor illustration of the collection. This was quite time-consuming because I need to revise the design several time which delayed the coloring process. After finish painting with watercolor, I then draw the outer outline with 0.1 ink pen and scan the illustration. To clean up the messy outline, I import the image and clean the edges.
